Ferrofluid is a liquid functional material that is magnetized by an external magnetic field and attracted to the poles of a magnet. It was developed by the parent company of Ferrotec at the time for the purpose of transporting fuel under zero gravity for NASA's space program in the 1960s. It is currently used for speakers, actuators, sensors, segregation of waste for recycling, and vacuum seals, which is one of our core products.
